Agents Katie and Penelope struggled helplessly in their bindings while a camera crew recorded every expression and wriggle they made.
Their captors kept making the elaborate ‘death trap’ room more and more perilous, and the cameras kept rolling.

“What is happening, Katie?” Penelope whispered. “Why are they creating this big setup? Is it a trap for our rescuers?”
“I don’t know…” Agent Katie replied. “Maybe it’s a ransom video? Why else would they dress us up in lingerie and tie us up like this?”
The anxious agents watched as yet another device was carried into the room and set on the floor nearby. They already had been surrounded by several large oil drums, some propane tanks, and even a couple canisters with hazardous markings.
Meanwhile, the two continued to struggle and strain and try to find a way to loosen the ropes, despite being surrounded by a mixture of enemy minions and members of the film crew. Unfortunately, the way the ropes around their wrists were intertwined together meant neither of them could get fingertips on the knots.
“This is all so purposefully staged,” Agent Penelope continued. “It’s like they’re putting on some kind of show.”
“And we’re the unwilling stars,” Agent Katie agreed. “Center stage, under the bright lights.”
She peered into the blinding LED lights that illuminated the scene. She could barely make out the features of the ‘director,’ while the mysterious figure everyone called ‘boss’ remained in the shadows behind the cameras.

Since their capture, everything had felt like a production. They’d been stripped naked of their civilian clothes and given expensive lingerie and heels to wear. After they’d been led to the room and placed in the chairs, the director called for a rigger to come and bind them together.
The rigger had worked quickly and efficiently under the supervision of the director, who gave instructions to ‘use the ropes to accentuate their figures,’ and ‘make it aesthetically pleasing,’ and ‘snug on the ankles, but don’t muss the stockings.’
Then the director had called for assistants to touch up the agents’ hair and makeup, before personally adding the white choker about Agent Katie’s throat. “From what I’ve read about you, this completes your look as much for you as it does for me,” he snickered.
Then it had been time for the cameras to roll and the minions to begin arranging the elements of their death trap. As each device was carried in, the minions took long looks at the bound and nearly naked women at the center of the room.
Meanwhile the director himself used a hand-held camera to zoom in on the agents’ faces and linger over close-up views of their restrained bodies. Even though they knew their reactions were being recorded, the two helpless agents couldn’t help squirming and looking about anxiously.
When the last of the deadly-looking devices was in place, the director called for quiet. “We’re all set for the final scene. Cameramen, set a tight frame, roll your cameras, and then everyone clear the room, please.”
Now the two women were very unnerved. They couldn’t help but wonder if these were their final moments, and they renewed their efforts to free themselves from their bonds.
“Cue the gas!” the director called when everyone else had left the room. Then he donned a serious-looking mask with a clear covering over his entire face.
Agents Penelope and Katie stared wide-eyed and open-mouthed as a greenish cloud began to rise out of the floor grates below them.
“Excellent, ladies, excellent!” the director called out. “That’s exactly the look of terror I wanted for your final scene.” Then he turned to leave the room.
“Wait! Stop!” Agent Katie cried out. “You’ve got your hostage video! Our agencies will pay to get us back!”
“Please! You don’t have to kill us!” Agent Penelope pleaded. “Don’t you want to monologue for a bit?”
“Oh, you misunderstand, we’re not going to kill you,” the director replied, looking to Agent Penelope. “That’s just knockout gas. We need you alive and well – for now.”
A wicked grin spread all they way to his excited eyes as he turned to Agent Katie. “This isn’t a ransom video…it’s a RECRUITING video.”
“It’s to show villains and mercenaries the ‘perks’ of joining our side.”
