I got in a head-butt and a couple good kicks, but while two lizard-men held me tight, the other re-tied my wrists around the pillar behind me.

They removed my gag and stood back to admire the view.

“Hey!  Wait!  No, no, no!” I cried as they bound my wrists before me.  “Please, no!  Don’t tie me up again!

The vines began pulling again, gripping me tightly, constricting my squirming body as I fought.

“Dammit, not just animals, even the plants are trying to OH HOLY FUCK WHAT IS THAT!?!”

When I saw the mother plant of those vines with a huge gaping maw full of teeth, my struggles became frantic and I began screaming for help. 

I didn’t care what kind of man or beast came to my aid, I was in need of a real rescue…or I was going to end up food for a carnivorous plant!

I thought I had simply wandered into a big mud puddle…until I didn’t hit bottom! 

The muck was thick, viscous, and I kept slowly sinking into it. 

‘What the…?’  I wondered, seeing the surface ripple and bubble as I struggled to stay upright.

But the more I fought, the faster I sank, meaning the more I struggled! 

Only then did I see the hand-lettered sign:  ‘DANGER QUICKSAND!’

The enormous snake caught me off guard when it dropped from a tree above and knocked me to the ground.

It slithered and wound itself all around me before I could even sit back up. 

Rather than squeezing me or coiling me tight, it wrapped my limbs to keep me off balance. 

I was still thrashing about when its head reared up before my face, its eyes staring directly into mine.

In retrospect, it wasn’t my best ‘first day on the job.’  But I got bored waiting for my new boss.

Only a week after my first assignment as S.P.A.N.K. inter-agency liaison to Director Alucard, he had recruited me for his agency.  He worked out a transfer so that now I reported directly to him.

I was a little surprised he wanted me after how that first assignment ended, with him rescuing me from being auctioned off in a harem outfit by an ogre in a pimp suit.  So yeah…anyhoo…

I got bored waiting for him in his office, and started snooping around the artifacts and relics he collected. I saw a crystal that seemed to be floating in midair.  As I drew closer, it began to glow!  

In a flash, I was suddenly in a hot, dense jungle.  The office was gone…and so were my clothes!
